Translation: It seems when he was kicked/pushed, he fell into a basket of puffed rice
Application: When something good is achieved even out of a supposedly bad event.
Explanation: Somebody was beaten up and kicked. But when he fell, instead of suffering (from injuries, or falling into mud), he realized that he had fallen into a basket of puffed rice, it's like he unearthed a cache of puffed rice, so he made a gain.
